Rental agreement summary.

Plain-language overview, not a contract

This page summarizes how renting works at Brightbox Storage. It is not the rental agreement and does not change it. If anything here differs from your signed agreement, the agreement controls.

Term and rent

  • Month-to-month rental that renews each billing period

  • Rent is due on the same day each month, starting on your move-in date

  • No deposit and no admin fee

  • Give notice before your next billing date to move out without another charge

Late rent

If rent is late, a late fee may apply and gate access may be paused until the account is current. Under North Carolina’s self-service storage law, a facility may eventually sell stored property to recover unpaid rent after sending the required notices. We always call and text before it gets that far.

Access and your lock

You get a personal gate code for access daily from 6 AM to 10 PM. You provide the lock and keep the only key. We don’t enter your unit except in an emergency, for required inspections or as the law allows.

What can’t be stored

Flammable or hazardous materials, food, living things, firearms and ammunition, and anything illegal. Units may not be used as living space or a workshop. See What not to store for the full list.

Protection

Your stored property must be protected by your own homeowners or renters policy or by a protection plan offered at move-in, from $12 a month. We are not an insurer and do not insure your belongings.
